Looking for Child Counselling in Nottinghamshire?

If your child is struggling – with anxiety, anger, low confidence, or a difficult time in their life – you don’t have to wait months for an appointment or take them somewhere clinical and unfamiliar. I come to you, into your own home, where your child already feels safe, and I work with your whole family, not just your child.

Grab a cuppa, and let’s talk about what your child needs.

I’m Claire Clements, an experienced practitioner, and I’ve spent over 23 years helping children feel like themselves again.

Is your child anxious, angry or just not themselves?

Every family is different, but the feeling is often the same. Maybe your child is anxious, angry or withdrawn, and nothing you try seems to reach them. Maybe their confidence has taken a knock, or they’re struggling to sleep or go into school. Many of the children I work with are neurodivergent – autistic, ADHD or simply experiencing the world differently. Diagnosed or not, you don’t need a label before we can start.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’ll come to you, get to know your child where they feel safest, and work with you as a family, so you get tools you can actually use. Because when your child finds their feet sparkle again, so does everyone else in your home.

What changes for your family

When we work together…

This is what peace in the home looks like. And it’s what I help families find.

  • Your child feels calm again. They open up, instead of shutting down.
  • They start to believe in themselves. The confidence comes back.
  • You sleep better. The guilt lifts. You stop wondering if you’re doing enough, because you are.
  • Life at home feels lighter. Everyone breathes a little easier.

We really enjoyed the online session! My daughter didn’t want to join in at first, but something changed her mind – that’s a credit to you. She got a lot out of it, and it was uplifting, fun and creative.

Client Stories

Meet some of the families I’ve helped

Don’t just take my word for it. These are real families from across Nottinghamshire, sharing what life looked like before we started, how we worked together, and what changed for their child. Every story is different, but you might recognise a little of your own family in theirs.

Ways We Work

Every family and child is different, so there’s more than one way to work with me. I can come to you at home, meet you online when that fits better around family life, or you can work through my online course at your own pace. Whichever you choose, you’ll get the same gentle, play-based approach and practical tools the whole family can use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question before we talk? Here are some of the things parents ask me most. If yours isn’t here, just get in touch – I’m always happy to help.

No. Many of the children I work with are neurodivergent – some have a diagnosis, some are waiting, and some never will. You don’t need a label before we can start. We begin with your child as they are.

Usually in your own home, where your child already feels safe. If that doesn’t work for your family, we can meet online over Zoom instead.

I support families across Nottinghamshire for in-person sessions. Online sessions and my online course are available wherever you live.

It’s a relaxed, no-pressure chat – so grab a cuppa. You tell me what’s going on for your child and your family, I’ll explain how I work, and together we’ll decide whether I’m the right fit. There’s no obligation to book.

Yes. I work with the whole family, not just your child. You’ll learn alongside them and come away with tools you can use at home every day – that’s what makes the changes last.

Sessions are gentle and led by what works for your child. We use play, creative activities and calming techniques rather than sitting and talking, so it rarely feels like therapy to them.

Every child is different, so there’s no set timescale. Many parents notice small changes early on – a calmer bedtime, a little more confidence – and those build over time.

That’s absolutely fine. You can download my free play-based activities, browse the blog, or simply get in touch with a question. I’m here when you’re ready.

Meet Claire

The face behind Positive Pants

I’m Claire, and I launched Positive Pants back in April 2018 after a lightbulb moment! I was wondering how I could make the idea of a positive mindset more accessible to children of primary school age. Then it hit me! Positive Pants!

It’s a well-known phrase to children and adults alike, and works as a tangible way to engage children with what could feel like a tricky concept. When you know how, having a positive mindset can be as easy as putting on your ‘Positive Pants’.
